The vast majority of people in UK feel dread when they know they’ll have to call a plumber.

They live months and even years with annoying dripping taps, damp ugly bathrooms and half-warm heating so deep is this dread. Most actually only call a plumber in an emergency, which is probably the worst time to confront the dread because the stress of a flood and expense of calling a plumber who has to be available to drop everything and come immediately will only make it worse (because if they’re any good they will be busy and not able to come immediately, right?)

After being a plumber for over twenty years Hattie Hasan hung up her tools to run her national business. However, that was short lived because her loyal customers kept demanding she and she alone fix their leaks and drips, fit their new bathrooms/wetrooms and make certain they were toasty warm on cold winter nights.

Hattie’s experience working as a plumber in three different places had convinced her that Stopcocks Women Plumbers could delight customers all over the UK by simply treating them respectfully. Hattie had found it easy to attract new and loyal customers wherever she went and this lead her to realise that if she created a national firm of women plumbers as committed to the finest customer service as she has always been, customers would benefit.

Contrary to the usual stereotype of plumbers, Hattie is not just female, she wears well fitting trousers and significantly she really cares about the customer experience. Everyone who joins Stopcocks Women Plumbers is the same in this respect; the Code of Conduct demands it and the Unique Stopcocks Training ensures it.

It isn’t a complicated business but it is innovative and surprisingly, inspiring.

Stopcocks Women Plumbers exist to give customers the choice of a female plumber. However, in order to encourage customers to choose us at Stopcocks we state we are ‘dedicated to excellence; offering quality results, outstanding customer relationships and a service you can trust since 1990’ and we train our plumbers to provide this over and above the usual plumber training.

It’s this that keeps our customers so happy.

But they don’t usually know this when they first contact Stopcocks. Answering the phone and asking why they chose Stopcocks the responses are similar. Customers have frequently been treated with huge disrespect by plumbers who if they turn up at all, have left repairs half done, left new bathrooms leaky and charged exhorbitant fees.
